Pioneering the "Dual Carbon" Goals, World's First "Zero-Carbon" Automotive Component Production Line Commences Operation in China

    15 Jan,2026

Against the backdrop of the global response to climate change, the green transformation of the automotive industry has extended upstream. International component giant Rhein Group (Germany) announced today that its electronic power steering system factory located in China's Yangtze River Delta region has received "Zero-Carbon Factory" certification from an authoritative body.

The factory achieved carbon neutrality in its production and manufacturing processes through large-scale use of rooftop photovoltaic power generation, procurement of green electricity, comprehensive electrification upgrades, and the introduction of carbon capture technology. Furthermore, the factory prioritizes the use of recycled aluminum and bio-based plastics in raw materials, reducing the product's full lifecycle carbon footprint by 60%.

The President of Rhein Group Asia-Pacific stated that China is not only the largest automotive market but is also becoming a global hub for green innovation in the automotive industry. The establishment of this "Zero-Carbon Factory" is a proactive response to China's "Dual Carbon" strategy and sets a new environmental benchmark for the entire industry. It is projected that by 2030, all of the Group's major production bases worldwide will achieve carbon-neutral operations.

Comprehensive decarbonization, from product to manufacturing process, is becoming a new benchmark for measuring the core competitiveness of component suppliers.
